Kingshouse Hotel

Tuck in your napkin and get ready for something special. On the menu we have the best ingredients from the local area – some from the estate, others from local producers.

A place of refuge since the 1750’s, the Kingshouse Hotel has been a stop off for weary travellers for centuries. With room and restaurant bookings the new hotel wing is now offering new and upgraded rooms for walkers and climbers to put their head down and to feed their bellies with hearty highland mains.

Think estate reared venison. The glug, glug of wine pouring. We call it: “fine dining without all the fuss”. Our crackling fires thaw the coldest of bones – with a little help from locally sourced food, beers and single malts. All served with views to tempt even the weariest to proclaim themselves ready to do it all again the next day.

In the heart of the mountains and at the foot of Buchaille Etive Mor, we’ve been an iconic landmark for over 250 years. The “Way Inn”, the traditional walkers’ bar has been located in the original Kingshouse building, reinstating it as a place to recharge and refuel for those enjoying the outdoors, or walking the West Highland Way serving all day food, beers or a cuppa.

  1. All The Feels!

We booked a stay at The Kingshouse
as we got engaged here 2 years ago as a “early-moon” before our wedding
on Saturday & it did not disappoint. Stunning as always. The food was 10/10
for breakfast lunch & dinner. We booked the champagne afternoon tea in the
domes outside & everything was incredible. The staff were amazing, every one
of them were so attentive & lovely. We can’t wait to continue to have our
celebrations here for years to come 🙂

  2. Exceptional Dome Dining Experience!

We enjoyed the Dome Dining experience tremendously! The views
were spectacular. Our food was delicious and the service was perfect. Thank
    you for a fantastic evening!

  3. A+ Afternoon Tea and Excellent Service

Absolutely first class all round. Loved the afternoon tea in the
dome. Will definitely be returning. Staff were so polite and friendly and our
dog loved the treats they gave him. Thank You.

  4. Outstanding Service & Tasting Menu at The Domes

What an incredible experience we had in the domes, from the
amazing service to the fantastic tasting menu we loved every minute and
really appreciate the efforts of the staff given the terrible weather. Will
certainly be back again to do it all over again!

  5. Fabulous Restaurant Experience!

We had a fabulous experience. Such a lovely place, the dome was
brilliant and very cosy, and we couldn’t fault any of the staff we came into
contact with. Everyone was so friendly, polite and helpful, and we wouldn’t
    hesitate to recommend.

  6. Magical Setting and Good Food

We ate in the dome which was a magical setting. Incredibly lucky
with the weather and the light changing as the sun set against the glen and
the river was amazing. The food was good. The wine list felt very expensive/
unnecessarily so, and I think if this was reviewed we might return but
currently it made the meal very expensive. Service was great. Super friendly
    team.

  7. Absolutely superb ! Afternoon tea was amazingly good. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Felt really well looked after. Would recommend highly

  8. Our overall experience was lovely however we didn’t believe the platters were good value, more of a choice would be more appealing.
The service from Ronald was superb and we couldn’t have asked for better.

  9. Honestly could not rate this place enough, the location was stunning, hotel gorgeous and the staff were so friendly and helpful! Afternoon tea in the Dome by the river was something else, can’t wait to return
